Solar Panels

During the 4 years since Pass It On started we have made 67 visits to either install or up date our solar systems in villages with no mains power. They are installed in community buildings that can be used for chidren to do homework, medical emergencies, town meetings etc.

Our systems are completely funded by surplus items from the cruising community in the Rio Dulce, Izabal, Guatemala.  We reuse solar panels and deepcycle batteries from the boats and sell most of the other item to provide the funds for the remaining materials, transport and to pay our local translator and technician and are completely free to the villages.
